Sustainability Statement

As an author and illustrator, I have signed the pledge by Publishing Declares to take action on the climate crisis. As part of this, I am working to make my own artistic practice as sustainable as possible. Currently, I use recycled and vegan materials wherever possible, avoid unnecessary plastic, and reuse, recycle or compost waste paper. My business banks with The Co-Operative Bank who do not fund fossil fuel investment. I advocate for positive change in the publishing industry and I am happy to discuss sustainability when taking on new projects.

As Publishing Declares points out:

“The planet is warming at an unprecedented rate. Habitat loss and deforestation are destroying the biodiversity essential to our very survival. And these changes will disproportionately impact some of the world’s poorest communities…

As readers, storytellers, creators, and educators, we have a unique role to play in the climate crisis. We have a responsibility to use our collective voice to inspire positive change, as we reduce our impact and transform our ways of working. We invite everyone in the UK book and journal industry – from printers and publishers to booksellers and authors – to join us in this effort.”
